verticillium wilt

verticillium wilt A plant disease caused by a fungus of the genus Verticillium. The infected plant may show wilting, with bending downwards and yellowing of the lower leaves. When the stem is cut well above ground level, characteristic brown streaks can be seen inside the stem, following the conducting elements.
