transport layer
transport layer A layer in the OSI REFERENCE MODEL and the TCP-IP architecture. It carries out the process of establishing, prioritizing, maintaining, and terminating the communication between two computers on a network. It also has the function of checking that data sent from one computer to another has correctly reached its destination.
