spin·ner / ˈspinər/ • n. 1. a person occupied in making thread by spinning. 2. a person or thing that spins. 3. (also spin·ner·bait) Fishing a lure designed to revolve when pulled through the water. ∎  a type of fishing fly, used chiefly for trout. 4. a metal fairing that is attached to and revolves with the propeller boss of an aircraft in order to streamline it.
