solifluction
solifluction(solifluxion) The downhill movement of regolith that has been saturated with water. It was originally described in periglacial regions (see gelifluction), but the term was subsequently widened to include all environments. The thick regolith of the humid tropics is particularly prone to solifluction after intense rainfall.
