ro·sette / rōˈzet/ • n. 1. a rose-shaped decoration, typically made of ribbon and awarded to winners of a competition. 2. a design, arrangement, or growth resembling a rose, in particular: ∎ Archit. a carved or molded ornament resembling or representing a rose. ∎ Biol. a marking or group of markings resembling a rose. ∎ a roselike cluster of parts, esp. a radiating arrangement of horizontally spreading leaves at the base of a low-growing plant. ∎ a rose diamond.
