relative pollen frequency

relative pollen frequency (RPF) An expression of pollen data from sediments for each species, genus, or family, as a percentage of the total pollen count or the total tree pollen. It is the traditional and most widely used method for preparing pollen diagrams. Compare absolute pollen frequency; see also palynology and pollen analysis.
