p-process
p-process A type of nuclear reaction that has been proposed to explain the formation of rare proton-rich isotopes of certain elements, such as tin. This involves the capture of protons by nuclei already produced by the r-process and s-process. It can occur only in the envelopes of supernovae where the temperature exceeds 109 K.
