nāḍī
nāḍī (Skt.). In tantric mystical physiology, the channels or pathways of psychic energy (vāyu) visualized as part of completion-stage meditation in anuttara-yoga-tantra. Three main channels are mentioned—the avadhūti, rasanā, and lalanā—although there are many subsidiary channels that branch out and bifurcate from the cakras located along the avadhūti so that all parts of the body are pervaded by psychic energy. A similar system of nāḍīs is envisaged in Tibetan medicine but this structure differs in many aspects from that used in tantric meditation.
