megathermal climate A high-temperature climate type, known more commonly in Europe (e.g. in the Köppen classification) as humid subtropical or tropical, with the coldest monthly mean temperature above 18°C. The term is also defined in the Thornthwaite classification by potential evapotranspiration and moisture-budget criteria.
