logic bomb

logic bomb A program that is usually introduced in a computer system via a TROJAN HORSE. The logic bomb carries out a destructive act such as destroying key files. It is programmed to do this at a certain time or when certain conditions occur, such as the perpetrator's name being removed from the personnel files of the company that he or she works for. Logic bombs are usually purely malicious, and there have been examples of them being used as a blackmail device.
