lips
lips Just as the human eye is sometimes described as though it acted on its own without the direction of its owner (as in Isa. 5: 15; Deut. 7: 16, AV, RV), so the lips can shout for joy (Ps. 71: 23) or guard knowledge (Prov. 5: 2) or lie (Prov. 12: 19), and Hosea (14: 2) calls for words of repentance, ‘the fruit of our lips’ in place of sacrifices.
