langur Any of c.15 species of medium to large monkeys of se Asia and the East Indies. Gregarious tree dwellers, they are active by day and are found from sea level to snowy Himalayan slopes up to an elevation of 4000m (13,000ft). Length: 43–78cm (17–31in). Family Cercopithecidae; genus Presbytis.
