Jacaranda

Jacaranda (family Bignoniaceae) A genus of trees in which the leaves are bipinnate and opposite. The flowers are bluish-lilac in colour and borne in panicles or clusters. The fruit is a short pod. J. filicifolia is a widely grown ornamental. There are 30 species, occurring in tropical America.

jacaranda Genus of trees native to tropical America. The ornamental Jacaranda mimosifolia and J. cuspidifolia have showy blue flowers amd fern-like leaves. There are 50 species. Family Bignoniaceae.
