hypermedia

hypermedia

hypermedia Documents which can be read non-linearly by following links known as HYPERLINKS embedded in the document. This term has superseded the term ‘hypertext’: the latter implies that such documents are purely textual when many technologies using hyperlinks now contain mixed media. The best-known example of hypermedia is the WORLD WIDE WEB.
