home page
home page The first page that a visitor to a WEB SITE encounters. It has to fulfil two functions: first it has to give the visitor some indication of the content and purpose of the Web site; second it has to provide the visitor with an incentive to continue the visit so that they view lower-level pages in the site. Designing a WEB PAGE so that both these functions are satisfied and, at the same time, ensuring that the page does not occupy too much memory and leads to a fast DOWNLOAD time, requires the highest design skills.
