guanosine phosphate The nucleotide of the purine base guanine. Guanosine phosphates are designated guanosine mono-, di-, and triphosphates (GMP, GDP, and GTP respectively). Cyclic-GMP is believed to be antagonistic in cells to c-AMP, while GTP is involved as a high-energy compound in peptide bond synthesis.
