grey-brown podzolic

grey-brown podzolic A soil-profile term describing eluviated (see eluviation), freely draining soils that have a distinctive clay-enriched B horizon. The soil develops under temperate woodlands which have a moderate rainfall, and forms good pasture-land after deforestation. The term is obsolete under the USDA Soil Taxonomy. See also Alfisols.
