geek
geek Someone who is very proficient in modern computer technology. It can refer to someone who has a huge indepth knowledge of some piece of software or someone who has a good broad knowledge of a variety of software. Not normally used as a derogative term. However, it can be used derogatively in a social context, as in the term GEEK OUT. See also ALPHA GEEK and TECHIE.
