foxhound

foxhound Medium-sized dog (sporting group) used in fox-hunting. The coat is short and smooth, the ears droop and the tail is carried erect. They are black, tan and white, and are noted for their speed and stamina. The American foxhound, recognized as a separate breed, is slighter than the English variety. Height: 53.3–63.5cm (21–25in) at the shoulder.
