fol·low-up • n. a continuation or repetition of something that has already been started or done, in particular: ∎ an activity carried out as part of a study in order to monitor or further develop earlier work: [as adj.] follow-up interviews. ∎ further observation or treatment of a patient, esp. to monitor earlier treatment: patients who require proper medical follow-up. ∎ a piece of work that builds on or exploits the success of earlier work: she is writing a follow-up to Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. |
