flex·or / ˈflekˌsər; -ˌsôr/ (also flexor muscle) • n. Anat. a muscle whose contraction bends a limb or other part of the body. Often contrasted with extensor. ∎ any of a number of specific muscles in the arm, hand, leg, or foot. |

flexor
flexor A muscle that causes a limb to bend by bringing the two parts of the limb together. An example is the biceps. Flexors work antagonistically with extensors. See voluntary muscle.
