fearful
fearful AV uses ‘fearful’ for both feeling fear and inspiring fear, but modern versions distinguish between the two. ‘Fearful sights’ (AV, Luke 21: 11) becomes ‘terror’ (REB), but at Heb. 10: 31 NRSV retains ‘It is fearful to fall into the hands of the living God’. (REB has ‘a terrifying thing’.)
