emergence marsh
emergence marsh The upper zone of a salt-marsh, from the general mean high-water level to the mean high-water level of spring tides. Typically it has fewer than 360 submergences per annum, often with less than an hour of submergence daily during sunlight. The minimum period of continuous exposure may exceed 10 days.
