1. As applied to fossils, a term implying that material has been fossilized elsewhere, eroded from its original site, and then incorporated in another, younger, geological horizon. The terms ‘reworked’ and ‘remanié’ are sometimes used as alternatives. 2. See APOMORPH. See also CLADISTICS. |
