1. If a program or computer does not respond to a user then it is said to have gone into deep space.

2. A term used in connection with someone who, for a number of reasons, does not reply to any form of verbal communication: For example, ‘John was so distracted by the process of developing his WEB SITE that he was usually to be found in deep space.’
