command language A simple language which is conveyed to a program using simple text. The MSDOS command language is an example of such a technology, as is the UNIX command language. Users of such languages often pride themselves on their technical expertise in comparison with the users of technologies like graphical interfaces. Facility in a command language is a skill usually displayed by GEEKS.
