cirrocumulus
cirrocumulus A cloud type comprising shallow, high-level cloud in stable air. The form is sheeted or layered with small-scale billows or ripples. As freezing of the supercooled droplets of young cloud occurs, so the fine-patterned features of the cloud become more diffuse. See also cloud classification.
