bean, broad Also known as fava or horse bean, Vicia faba. A 75‐g portion is a good source of copper; a source of niacin, folate, and vitamin C; contains 0.5 g of fat, of which 16% is saturated; provides 3 g of dietary fibre; supplies 35 kcal (145 kJ). See also favism.
