boysenberry Fruit similar to loganberry, a hybrid of blackberry, raspberry and loganberry developed by Rudolph Boysen (1920). Rediscovered in 1933 by Walter Knott, who made it the basis of Knott's Berry Farms in Anaheim, California. Originally the farm sold Mrs Cordelia Knott's home‐made jams; it is now a theme park.

boy·sen·ber·ry / ˈboizənˌberē/ • n. (pl. -ies) 1. a large red edible blackberrylike fruit. 2. the shrubby plant (Rubus loganobaccus) that bears this fruit, which is a hybrid of several kinds of bramble.
