boog·ie / ˈboŏgē/ • n. (also boog·ie-woog·ie / ˈwoŏgē/ ) (pl. boog·ies) a style of blues played on the piano with a strong, fast beat. ∎ inf. a dance to fast pop or rock music. • v. (boog·ie·ing ) [intr.] inf. dance to fast pop or rock music: ready to boogie down to the music of the house band. ∎ [intr.] move or leave somewhere fast: let's boogie! I think we'd better boogie on out of here.
