anussati

anussati (Pāli, recollection). Group of six or ten objects said to be especially worthy of contemplation. Through meditating on these things the three roots of evil (akuśala-mūla) can be destroyed. The list of ten is: (1) the Buddha, (2) the Dharma, (3) the Saṃgha, (4) morality (śīla), (5) generosity (dāna), (6) the gods (deva), (7) death, (8) the body, (9) the breath, and (10) peace.

Anussati (Pāli, ‘recollection’). Contemplative practices in Buddhism which break attachment to the three destructive roots (akuśala). Initially six, they are now reckoned as ten.
