William Rutherford Mead

William Rutherford Mead 1846-1928, American architect, b. Brattleboro, Vt. He entered the office of Russell Sturgis in New York City. In 1872 he began to practice architecture with C. F. McKim , and their partnership was joined by Stanford White in 1879 to make the famous firm of McKim, Mead, and White.
