Wenceslas IV
Wenceslas IV (1361–1419) King of Bohemia (1376–1419), King of Germany (1378–1400), and Holy Roman Emperor (1378–1400). A weak king, he was overcome by the ambitions of the imperial princes, the town leagues, and by his brother SIGISMUND. A Bohemian revolt, starting in 1394, deposed him in favour of Sigismund in 1402. He lost the German throne in 1400 in favour of Rupert Wittelsbach, although he regained it in 1404. Much of his reign was disturbed by the Hussite movement; Wenceslas supported HUSS and tried to prevent his execution, which was ordered by Sigismund.
