Viareggio
Viareggio , city (1991 pop. 57,514), Tuscany, N central Italy, on the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is a fishing center and a fashionable beach resort. The body of the poet Shelley was cremated there after his death by drowning at Lerici near La Spezia in 1822. |
