Uniti
Uniti, company of the commedia dell'arte which has caused much discussion, since it is possible that the name refers not to a distinct company, as did Gelosi and Confidenti, for example, but to a combined troupe of actors from different companies formed for a special occasion. Because of this some critics consider the Uniti to be part of the history of the Gelosi, some of the Confidenti. It remains certain that a company under that name was directed by Drusiano Martinelli and his wife Angelica in 1584 and for some years afterwards. A company calling itself the Uniti, noted in 1614, may have been a temporary amalgamation. Among its members were Silvio Fiorillo and his son.
