Tycho
Tycho ♂ Latinized form of the name of St Tychon (d. c.450), bishop of Amathus in Cyprus, who worked to suppress the last remnants of the cult of Aphrodite on the island. The Greek name Tychōn means ‘hitting the mark’, and was chosen for the sake of its good omen. The most famous modern bearer of the given name was the Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe (1546–1601).
