Trullan Synod
Trullan Synod. The synod of E. bishops held in 692 to pass disciplinary canons to complete the work of the Fifth (553) and Sixth (680–1) General Councils (hence its other name of ‘Quinisext’ or Fifth-Sixth Council). It sat in the domed room (‘trullus’) of the imperial palace at Constantinople. Its decrees were rejected by the Pope.
