Story of Rimini, The
Story of Rimini, The, a poem by Leigh Hunt published 1816. The work (with which Hunt had assistance from Byron) is based on Dante's story of Paolo and Francesca.
Francesca leaves Ravenna as a bride, and journeys in moonlight to Rimini. The events which overtake her, and the feelings which arise, lead to her adulterous love for Paolo. The lovers are discovered, and their deaths conclude the poem. |
