Sutta-nipāta
Sutta-nipāta. The fifth book of the Khuddaka Nikāya of the Sūtra Piṭaka of the Pāli Canon. It mainly consists of verses, apparently compiled from a number of sources, divided into five sections: Uraga, Cūla, Mahā, Aṭṭhaka, and Pārāyaṇa. Some of the poems of the Sutta-nipāta are found in other books of the canon, indicating that they probably existed separately, as popular poems, before being incorporated in this text. The commentary to the Sutta-nipāta, compiled by Buddhaghoṣa, is part of the Paramatthajotikā.
