Stevie Smith

Smith, Stevie

Smith, Stevie (1902–71) English poet, b. Florence Margaret Smith. Smith first came to public notice with Novel on Yellow Paper (1936). Her witty and often pathetic poetry was collected in 1975, and includes the title poem of her 1957 volume Not Waving But Drowning.
