Spiny lobsters

Palinuridae

Palinuridae (spiny lobsters; class Malacostraca, order Decapoda) Family of large, edible decapods which have a more or less cylindrical cephalothorax and a well-developed, dorsoventrally flattened abdomen. The head bears large, spiny antennae, and in most species the first pair of legs is not enlarged. The family occurs in tropical waters.
