1. Ruler of a synagogue at Corinth and assaulted by the angry crowd when he failed to win the case against Paul. Gallio the proconsul refused to intervene (Acts 18: 17). 2. Mentioned as associated with Paul in writing to the Corinthians (1 Cor. 1: 1) and possibly the former ruler of the Corinthian synagogue. |
