Sir Bernard Partridge

Sir Bernard Partridge 1861-1945, English caricaturist and illustrator. He was principal cartoonist for Punch from 1891 until his death. Partridge began his career by designing stained glass and painting watercolors, but he is best known as an illustrator.

Haitink, Sir Bernard

Haitink, Sir Bernard (1929– ) Dutch conductor, principal conductor of the Amsterdam Concertgebouw Orchestra (1961–88) and the London Philharmonic (1967–79). In 1987, he became musical director of the Royal Opera House, London, where he was noted for superb Wagner performances.
