sibutramine
sibutramine (sy-boo-tră-meen) n. a drug that acts on the central nervous system to suppress the appetite: it inhibits the reuptake of noradrenaline and serotonin. Sibutramine is administered by mouth in the treatment of obesity, mainly for those with a body mass index of 30 or over who have failed to respond to standard weight-reduction measures. Trade name: Reductil.
