Shona

Shona

Shona ♀ Anglicized form of Seonag or Seònaid. In America the name is pronounced identically with Shauna, and may be used as a variant spelling of that name. It has also become popular as a Black name, probably in part because it is spelled the same as the name of a central African people. Compare Zula for a similar formation.
