Hubert, St
Hubert, St (d. 727), bishop of Maastricht and Liège; he is said to have converted to Christianity when, hunting on a Good Friday, he found himself confronted by a stag with a crucifix in its antlers (a similar story is told of St Eustace). His supposed hunting-horn is in the Wallace Collection. His feast day is 30 May, and his translation 3 November.
