Saint-Hubert

Saint-Hubert , town (1991 pop. 5,689), Luxembourg prov., SE Belgium, in the Ardennes. It is a tourist resort. Of note is a former Benedictine abbey (reputedly founded in the 7th cent.), now housing a juvenile reformatory; St. Hubert, patron of the hunt, is buried in the abbey church (16th cent.).

Saint‐Hubert, Belgium, Canada 1. Belgium: formerly Andain. Renamed after St Hubert (d. 727), Bishop of Maastricht and Liège, who is said to have been converted while out hunting and is therefore the patron saint of huntsmen; he is buried here.2. Canada (Quebec): also named after St Hubert.
