Rādhāsoāmī Satsaṅg

Rādhāsoāmī Satsaṅg (Hindī, ‘pious congregation of the supreme being, Lord of Rādhā’). Religious movement originating in N. India. Since Soāmījī Mahārāj ( Shiv Dayāl Siṅgh) of Āgrā (1818–78) founded this movement in 1861, it has divided into two main groups, each with its own succession of Masters and organization, and many smaller followings. One āśram has continued in Dayālbāgh (Garden of the Merciful) near Āgrā, UP, India, with Satgurūs Rai Saligram, known as Hazūr Mahārāj (1829–98), Mahārāj Sāhab (1861–1907), Sarkār Sāhab, Sāhabjī Mahārāj, and Mehtājī Sāhab. The other centre is Beās, near Amritsar, Pañjāb, founded in 1891 by Soāmījī Mahārāj's follower, Jaimal Siṅgh, whose successors were Sawan Siṅgh (1858–1948), Jagat Siṅgh, Charan Siṅgh (d. 1990), and Gurinder Siṅgh Dhillon. There are now branches throughout India and in other countries.
