Queen Maud Land
Queen Maud Land (Norwegian: Dronning Maud Land), Antarctica Discovered by the Norwegians in 1930 and declared a Norwegian dependency in 1949. It was named after Queen Maud (1869–1934), English wife of Haakon VII, King of Norway (1905–57). The Queen Maud Mountains are also named after her.
