Quang Tri
Quang Tri a city in northern South Vietnam that was a target for takeover by the North Vietnamese Army (NVA) in early 1972 at the beginning of their all-out offensive to win the war. The South Vietnamese army abandoned the city in May, 1972. An attempt was begun in June to retake the city, with the aid of U.S. Navy and air bombardment. The South Vietnamese controlled the city again by September, but in March, 1975, it fell to the NVA.
